DRIESCHER has made a big leap in terms of digitization and innovative presentation concepts. A virtual visitable and walk-in showroom has been available on the homepage www.driescher.de since the beginning of October. In its first stage of expansion, it offers an overview of the product portfolio and can be used anywhere.
The corona crisis caused major changes in day-to-day business and daily communication. The usual personal appointments had to be moved to digital channels, which DRIESCHER had to and was able to make available to customers very quickly. This also affected the trade fair activities planned for 2020 by DRIESCHER, all of which had to be canceled by the organizers. The trade fairs are one of the most important forums for DRIESCHER and its customers to exchange industry-relevant information, to present the products, to kick off successful projects with white sausage and wheat beer and to initiate one or the other business – or simply to meet again.
For these reasons, the experts from marketing and sales at DRIESCHER got together and developed a digital meeting point so that customers can continue to be offered a trade fair-like experience and thus a contact forum is available to keep in touch with one another. The result is the virtual showroom, the look and feel of which corresponds to a DRIESCHER measuring stand, with a selection of products from the areas of low and medium voltage as well as railway technology. In order to make the products tangible, as is possible at a real trade fair, animations were created on the basis of the construction data, which show the functionality and details of the switching devices and systems. The integrated video chat also gives the sales team the opportunity to plan a meeting with customers and hold discussions by making an appointment. The showroom can be accessed on all PCs and mobile devices – smartphones and tablets – and can also be installed as an app. And if you want to move completely in virtual reality in the showroom, you can experience this with your VR glasses. Bring your trade fair feeling into your living room!
“With the virtual showroom, we have created an innovative, digital channel with which we can present our product range regardless of location and embedded in our exhibition stand design and at the same time stay in contact with our customers,” explains Christoph Driescher, Managing Director and Marketing Director at DRIESCHER.
Christian Vetter, Head of Export, sees this as a further opportunity: “Especially for international sales, we see good potential with the showroom to be able to get in touch with customers from distant countries and to introduce them to the DRIESCHER product portfolio. Because not every interested party takes the effort and expense to visit our real trade fair appearances. ”
At DRIESCHER, however, people are already thinking about how the virtual showroom can be further developed and how it can offer customers even more benefits in the future, for example as a customer portal. Gradually, the selection of products in the showroom will grow. It is also planned to integrate an interactive and informative tour through production, which will provide information about the newly introduced lean processes in production. Other ideas for extensions are offers such as webinars or a product configurator. And who knows?! Perhaps DRIESCHER customers will soon be able to enjoy their white sausage virtually in the showroom!
