DRIESCHER in Norway
Outdoor switches for a new rail line between Holm and Nykirke
The Norwegian National Rail Administration (Norwegian: Jernbaneverket) is a government agency responsible for owning, maintaining, operating and developing the Norwegian railway network.
Jernbaneverket was contracted with DRIESCHER Moosburg for the construction of the new rail line from Holm to Nykrike to build 8 tunnel switchgear and 56 outdoor switches for the power supply in the tunnel.
This project comprises a total length
of 14,2 km. 12,3 km will be in the Holmestandsporten Tunnel. The new railway station Holmestrand will be build in the tunnel, with three entrances, one of them, can be used as an elevator. The tunnel will have 13 emergency exits.
In 2014 the new double track line building costs were estimated of5,57 billion NOK (640 million €) and the opening will probably be in autumn 2016.
